Linda Sue (Flanigan) Paulley Shirley

Linda Sue (Flanigan) Paulley Shirley, 75, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Monday, September 11, 2023. She retired as the 1st Deputy for the Floyd County Assessor. Linda was a member of 40&8, FOP and the Ladies Auxiliary at VFW Post 1693 and American Legion Post 28. She had many interests that included shopping, playing cards, going to bingo and spending time with her family and friends.

She was born on January 15, 1948 to Melvin and Margaret (McCormick) Flanigan. In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her husband, James "Kent" Shirley; and siblings, Brenda Kay Riordan, Mark Shane Flanigan and Noah Kent Flanigan.

Linda is survived by her children, Christopher Paulley (Tracey), Vivian "Suzie" Paulley, Justin Flanigan; sisters, Charlene Nichols (Arthur), Kelly Coomer; sister-in-law, Ann Flanigan; five grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, good friends; and her beloved dog, Chelsey.

Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 17, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Monday after 9:00 a.m. Her funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home with burial to follow at St. Mary of the Knobs Cemetery in Floyds Knobs.
