Linda Lou (Payton) Meurer

Linda Lou (Payton) Meurer, 78, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2025. Born on February 1, 1947, in Olaton, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Victor and Goldie (Duncan) Payton. Linda was a woman of strong faith who devoted herself to her beliefs and held a special connection to Shawnee Baptist Church in Louisville.

A meticulous homemaker, Linda found joy in keeping a neat house, and her love for cleanliness was well-known among her family and friends. However, it was her family that truly filled her heart with pride and happiness. Linda adored each of her grandchildren and relished the moments spent with them, creating lasting memories that will be treasured for generations.

Throughout her life, Linda faced challenges with grace and resilience. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert W. Meurer; her daughter, Shelia Hutchison; her great-grandchild, Keaton Hutchison; and seven siblings.

Linda is survived by her son, Robert R. Meurer; her grandchildren, Amber Snelling (Michael), Dustin Hutchison (Sarah), Cody Hutchison (Olivia), and Jordan Meurer; and her great-grandchildren, Taylor McClellan, Braiden Murphy (Addison), Savannah McClellan, Jasmine Hutchison, Aiden Hutchison, Iszale Hutchison, Declan Hutchison, Ethan Epperson, Avery Epperson, Mollie Missi, Matthew Gatrost; and great-great-grandchild, Aubre Murphy. Additionally, she leaves behind her beloved sisters: Juanita Cook (Ralph), Regena Harris (Randall Garrett), and Terecia Whitworth (Tim).

The family invites friends and loved ones to visit from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 28, 2025, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Saturday after 10:00 a.m. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery in New Albany.
