Lillie Elizabeth(Veteto) Bowe

Lillie E. (Veteto) Bowe, 84, a compassionate and selfless person, of Sellersburg, Indiana passed away peacefully with her husband, sister, and family by her side on Friday, June 21, 2013 at the Hospice Inpatient Care Center in Louisville, Kentucky. She was a member of St. Joe Hill Catholic Church and active in the church quilting club. Lillie retired from Beechmont Press in Louisville. She loved to dance and also tend to her flower beds that she was so proud of.

Lillie was born on June 6, 1929 in Franklin, Kentucky to the late James J. and Maggie E. (Johns) Veteto. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Edna Mae Carr, James Albert Veteto, William Veteto; sister-in-laws, Aileen Bowe and Rita Hettinger.

She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Herman J. Bowe; sister, Gladys Owen; sister-in-law, Martha Bowe; brother-in-law, Carl Bowe; many nieces, nephews, good friends; and caretaker, Barbara. She was loved and will be remembered by all.

Visitation will be from 1 to 8 PM Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). A Prayer Service will be held Tuesday at 4 PM. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11 AM at St. Joe Hill Catholic Church (2605 St. Joe Road West, Sellersburg) with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Hosparus, as well as Lillie's nieces and nephews for their love and care of Lillie over the last few weeks.
