Lillian D. (Burl) Young, 74, of New Albany passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2011. Lillian was a former OB-GYN technician at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services.
Lillian was born on November 2, 1937 in Tazwell, West Virginia to the late Harry and Gladys (Barnes) Burl. She is also preceded in death by her husband, James W. Young; daughter, Agnes Booker; sisters, Rosalinda Roland, Madeline Majors, and Wilma N. Marks; stepmother, Polly Burl; and grandson, Marcus Rouse.
She is survived by her children, Curtis D. Young (Sharon), Wanda M. Covington (James), Wilma J. Orndorff (Victor), Dorothy Jackson (Marvin), Diedra K. Young, James N. Young (Teresa), and Eric F. Young; sisters, Wanda Boyd and Wilma Roland; brother, William Burl (Bertha); 13 grandchildren; and 24 great grandchildren.
Her Visitation will be from 10 AM to 12 PM on Friday, December 2, 2011 at Bethel AME Church (315 East Fifth Street, New Albany) with her Funeral Service at 12 PM at the church followed by burial at Westhaven Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
