Leta Jones

Leta Jones, 84, of Louisville, KY passed away on August 13, 2013. She was a member of Christian Assembly Church where she sang in the Senior Ladies Choir, worked in the dining room, and visited the sick. Leta worked for BellSouth Telephone Company, the Charlestown Powder Plant, Belknap Hardware, Clifton Arms Apartments, and Toys R Us. She was a volunteer counselor at the Center for Women and Families and an honorary lifetime member of the Jefferson County PTA.

Leta was born on November 17, 1928, in Perks, IL to the late Waldo and Wilda (Lankston) Herren. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Faith Virginia Herren, Mary Holden, Lois Holden, and Jeanne Herren.

Leta is survived by her daughters, Renee Modaff (Don) and Melodie Pavlik (George); brother, John Herren (Dorothy); granddaughters, Tiffany Renee McClure, Lisa Renee Pavlik, and Hannah Renee Modaff.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday, August 15, 2013 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Louisville Chapel (10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY). Her Funeral Ceremony will be held Friday at 1:00 pm at Christian Assembly Church (9020 Stonestreet Rd, Louisville, KY) with burial to follow in Mount Holly Cemetery.
