Leroy Henderson

Leroy Henderson, 92, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, June 24, 2022. Leroy received his education while attending Booker T. Washington, Jackson Junior High School and Aaron's Trade school. He was employed by Palm and Sons, before joining the US Military as part of the Tank Battalion. After being honorably discharge from the US Army, he return to Palm and Sons were he retired as a foreman after 34 years. While married to Mary France Henderson, his first wife he fathered 3 children. After their divorce he married Sarah Henderson and was a devoted husband for over 60 years.

He was born on February 10, 1930 in Louisville, Kentucky to Roy and Elizabeth (Breckinridge) Henderson. He is preceded in death by his father, Roy Henderson, mother, Elizabeth Henderson, wife, Sarah Henderson and son, Leroy Michael Henderson.

Leroy is survived by his loving family, daughters, Bonita Henderson, Sherry (Kenneth) Woods; siblings, Barbara Ann Cook, Beverly Howard, Richard (Quinnell) Henderson, Winona (George) King; Grandchildren, Monica (Norman) Simmons, Stacey Henderson Watkins, Kyle Henderson, Phylicia Lyons, Gabrielle Woods, and Jeremiah Woods; as well as a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends to cherish his loving memory forever.

His Funeral Service will be on Saturday, July 2, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel. Mr. Henderson will be laid to rest at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery at a later day.

The family requests that contributions in Leroy's memory be made to Fountain of Life Ministries.
