Leon Young, 78, of Clarksville, Indiana, passed away on Monday, February 3, 2025. He was a proud 20 year veteran of the United States Army. Leon enjoyed playing cards, going fishing and loved his family deeply.

He was born on March 12, 1946 in Cordia, Kentucky to Arlie and Lucinda (Singleton) Young. Along with his parents, Leon was preceded in death by his sisters, Faye, Kathleen, Treva, Retha; and brothers, Avery, Argus, Rex and Chandler.

Leon is survived by his brother, Nolan Young (Fern); siginificant other, Betty Carver; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family members. 

A gathering of family and friends will take place from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with a celebration of Leon's life taking place at 2:00 p.m. He will be laid to rest privately with his family in Cordia, Kentucky. 

Contributions in Leon’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to the American Cancer Society.
