Leon Lee Brackens

Leon Lee Brackens, 47, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on June 18, 2012. He was a creative and funny man with a huge personality. He kept us all laughing with his ability to say the funniest things. Leon graduated from New Albany High School in 1984 where he was a thespian who starred in many plays.

Leon was born on February 26, 1965 in New Albany to Odell and Anna M. (Beard) Brackens. He leaves to mourn a dedicated and loving father, Odell Brackens, Sr.; sisters, Renita Brackens-McCloud, DeVonne Whiting (Art), Lisa K. Sheppard (Ken), Shawna DeNene Brackens, Trina Brackens-Pullen (Joktan), brothers, Odell Brackens, Jr. (Blanche), George G. Brackens, Daniel D. Brackens (Carrul), Kevin D. Brackens, Henry W. Brackens, Steven B. Brackens; aunt, Helen Ray Duckworth; and a host of nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.

His Visitation will be 5 to 8 PM Friday, June 22, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Service will be at 1 PM on Saturday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Westhaven Cemetery in New Albany.
