Lena Gay (Sorrels) Rouzer

Lena Gay (Sorrels) Rouzer, 76, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2023. She retired from Ford Motor Company - Louisville Assembly Plant after over 30 years and was a member of UAW Local 862. Lena enjoyed sewing, baking for her friends and coworkers, and in her younger years liked working out in the yard. She will be remembered for having a huge heart that chose to love unconditionally.

She was born on January 14, 1947 in Horse Branch, Kentucky to Eugene and Pearl (Crabtree) Sorrels. In addition to her parents, Lena was preceded in death by nine siblings.

Lena is survived by her children, James "Tony" Rouzer, Holly Rouzer; grandchildren, Matthew Duvell (Sarah), Ashley Lutz (Aaron), Emilee Bowling; great-grandchildren, Miya, Jordyn, Stoney, Waylon and Thomas; siblings, Mae Sergent, Velma Taylor (Ron), Orben Sorrels, Doug Sorrels; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 19, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Monday after 9:00 a.m. Her funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville.
