Leisa Burns Brittain

Leisa Burns Brittain, of Mansfield, TX has left us to be with the Lord, our God on January 7th at the young age of 63. Leisa was born and raised in Louisville, KY on April 10, 1953 to Raphael and Helen (Moore) Burns and grew up in the Hikes Point/J-Town area.

Leisa loved to be with family and friends, being outdoors, vacationing at the beach and being a "second Mom" to all of her children's friends. Most of all, she loved being a Grandmother and hearing the sweetest, loving voice of Emma call her "Nana". Leisa will be remembered by her kind and compassionate love she spread and for the friendships she made with everyone she met throughout her celebrated life. Her infectious smile and laughter brought happiness to all and she will be missed immensely by those closest to her heart. When you look up into the sky at night, she'll be the brightest shining star you'll see.

Leisa is preceded in death by her father, Raphael Burns.

She leaves behind her loving husband of 31 years, Robert A. Brittain (Rob); sons, Jeremy Gernert, Nick, Chris (Shea) Brittain; granddaughter, Emma (her beloved shining Angel); mother, Helen; siblings, Denise (Kit) Sullivan and Michael Burns; and her pups Coco and Venus.

Visitation and Services will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, East Louisville Chapel 235 Juneau Dr., Louisville, KY 40243 from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2017.
