Leamon (Milam) Shepherd

Leamon (Milam) Shepherd, 92, of Georgetown, Indiana, passed away on Friday, September 22, 2023. She was a faith-filled woman and longtime member of the Church of Christ in Louisville, where she taught Sunday school. Leamon loved her family deeply and always enjoyed getting to spend time with them.

She was born on March 5, 1931 in Warren County, Kentucky to Laymon and Sarah (Warren) Milam. In addition to her parents, Leamon was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Shepherd; daughter, Anna "Lois" Caswell; son-in-law, Kermit Caswell; and brother Johnny Milam.

Leamon is survived by her children, Elbert M. Shepherd (Mary), Karen Koufeldt (Robert); grandchildren, Tammy Caswell-Rhoads, Scott Caswell (Jenna), Stephanie Noble (Shane), Benjamin Shepherd (Elizabeth), Robert Koufeldt (Stephanie), Katie Callahan (Patrick), Brandon Koufeldt; great-grandchildren, John, Zach, Taylor, Jackson, Betsy, Pierce, Mary Milam, Campbell, Jillian, Abby; and sister-in-law, Faye Milam.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with her funeral service taking place at 12:00 p.m. She will be laid to rest at Louisville Memorial Gardens West.
