Lawrence Charles Schremser, born on November 14, 1939, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2024 in Sellersburg, Indiana. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend who touched the lives of many through his unwavering commitment of service to others.
Larry's educational journey began in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, where he attended high school before pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from Marquette University. His professional career took off with IBM in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he poured himself into a successful sales role. After fifteen years with the company, he followed his passion for helping others by founding Access Computer Careers, a business that prioritized serving and empowering individuals to achieve their dreams.
Outside of his professional life, Larry was a man of faith and community. He was a long-time and committed parishioner at St. Mary Catholic Church in Lanesville, Indiana, where he dedicated his time serving on the parish council, contributing to legacy fundraising efforts, and actively participating in numerous committees. For many years, he also enjoyed the camaraderie and fellowship found in a Saturday morning men's small group. Larry also sat on the board of the New Albany Catholic Charities and served as a CASA volunteer.
Larry is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Ginny Smith Schremser, and his children, Anne (Christopher) Fuller, Christopher (Tara) Schremser, Karen (Chris) Scott, Brian (Jenie) Smith, and Adam Smith. He took great pride in being a grandfather to 15 wonderful grandchildren, who will forever carry his lessons of service and love in their hearts. He is also survived by his sisters, Margaret "Midge" Shaw and Gertrude "Bunny" (Bruce) Nogalski; and his nieces and nephews.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Schremser, Gertrude Schremser, and Donna Schremser. The legacy of his compassionate heart and dedication to serving others will continue to live on in those who knew him. His life stands as a testament to the impact one individual can have in the lives of many, and he will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and community.
