Lawrence Anthony Jacobi

Lawrence Anthony Jacobi, 83, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, passed away peacefully with family on Saturday, December 16, 2023. He was a 1958 graduate of Morgan Township High School and the owner of Jacobi Sodding Service. Lawrence was a longtime member of St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Cardinal Ritter Council #1221 in New Albany.

He loved being surrounded by his friends and family. Lawrence enjoyed flying his plane, traveling around the world and reading nightly to his son, Dean.

He was born on September 30, 1940 to Francis and Almena (Westbecker) Jacobi. Along with his parents, Lawrence was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Jacobi.

Lawrence is survived by his wife of 58 years, Dian (Wolfe) Jacobi; daughters, Angela Carter, Melissa Jacobi, Kimberly Harbison; son, Dean Jacobi; brothers, Robert (Nancy), Jerome (Janie), Donald, Wayne (Vickie); sisters, Catherine Russo, Eileen Jacobi; sister-in-law, Christina Jacobi; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Reception (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Thursday after 9:00 a.m. at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church (5719 St. Mary's Road, Floyds Knobs). His funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at the church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
