Lawrence Everett Irvin, 76, went home to be with his Heavenly Father and his beloved wife on August 25, 2013 at Hosparus.
He was born September 10, 1936, in Louisville, KY to Fannie Mae Irvin and Lawrence Everett Irvin, Sr. who both preceded him in death. He was raised by his Aunt and Uncle; Liz and Mort(Pop) Addison who also preceded him in death. He was a proud Army veteran serving in the Korean War and retired from Philip Morris after 35 years. He was a member of Shively Baptist Church for over 40 years.
He was the loving husband to Zola Irvin for 53 years who preceded him in death.
He was the father to daughter, Christy Irvin Miller (Eric) and son, Lawrence "Larry" Everett Irvin, III (Mary Jo). He also considered Eric a son rather than a son-in-law...he took him under his wing and cared for him as a dad from the day they met; they were the best of friends. He was the adored Papaw to his 2 precious Sugar Bears, Hannah Elizabeth Miller and Christian Everett Miller. (Christian was named after his PaPaw). He loved his babies!!!
Lawrence's visitation is Wednesday, August 28, from 4pm-8pm at Newcomer Funeral Home Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway. Funeral services are Thursday, August 29, at 12:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway. Interment will be in Louisville Memorial Gardens, 4400 Dixie Highway.
