LaVerna Van Heuklon, age 80 went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 28, 2013 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Little Chute, Wisconsin to Martin and Delia Gloudeman Kempen. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Audrey and Bernice; brothers, Harvey, Giles and Don.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 57 years, Arnold Van Heuklon; daughter, Jackie Schweitzer (Ron); sons, Randy (Julie), Keith (Christine); grandchildren, David (Erin) and Jay Schweitzer, Issac and Hannah Van Heuklon; great-granddaughter Lily Schweitzer; sisters, Eileen Pagel (Robert) and Donna Mae Wildenberg (James).
Visitation will be Sunday, March 3 from 2-6 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive. Visitation will also be 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. Monday at Evangel Church.
Funeral ceremony will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 4, 2013 at Evangel World Prayer Center, 6900 Billtown Road with entombment to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.
LaVerna would like to thank Dr. Hamm, Dr. Spaulding and the staff at Nortons Cancer Institute. She would also like to thank Dr. Janocik and Dr. Das, Dr. Lindner, the staff at Baptist Hospital East and Hosparus.
She would also like to thank Pastor Dave Keeling, her church family and lifelong friends and relatives for all of their prayers and support.
LaVerna looks forward to the day that we join her in heaven to see Jesus, face to face, as he reaches out to hold each of us.
