Laura Diane (Van Fossen) Spalding

Laura Diane (Van Fossen) Spalding, 38, of Georgetown, Indiana, passed away on Friday, January 7, 2022. Laura was the Music Director and a member of St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church. She served many roles within the Hayswood Theatre Group in Corydon, Indiana and was a former Program Director of the Corydon State Capitol Historic Site. She earned degrees in Vocal Performance, History, and German from Bowling Green State University in Ohio which helped her to express her love for music, theatre, history, and historic reenacting. Of all her life accomplishments, her favorite was being a wife and mother to her loving husband and children.

She was born on November 2, 1983 in Sidney, Ohio to Eric Van Fossen and Holly (Born) Page. Laura is preceded in death by her grandfathers, Gary Van Fossen and Robert Born.

Along with her parents, Laura is survived by her loving husband, James Spalding; children, Joseph Spalding, Chloe Spalding, Theodore Spalding, and Felicity Spalding; step-father, Albert Page; brother, John (Alana) Van Fossen; step-brother, David (Molly) Page; nieces, Nora Van Fossen and Lily Van Fossen; grandmothers, Barbara "Sue" Van Fossen and Janet Born; and many extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Sunday, January 16, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - New Albany, (3309 Ballard Lane) and will continue on Monday, January 17, 2022 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Monday, at church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
