82, died September 24, 2012. She was born January 2, 1930 in her beloved hometown of Portsmouth, Ohio to Arthur Hobart Peake and Lucille Peake (Tracy). Laura Jane attended Baldwin Wallace College where she met her husband of 55 years Frederick William Baetzel Jr. Mrs. Baetzel was a longtime member of St. Matthews United Methodist Church and the Ten Pin Bowling League. She was a former employee of Citizens Fidelity Bank and Trust Co., the financial manager for the F. W. Baetzel Co. and a receptionist at Friendship Manor Nursing Home.
Although she was in failing health for the last two years of her life, Laura Jane was able to live at home due to the loving care given by her granddaughter Christine Olson. The last three months of her life were spent at Friendship Manor in Pewee Valley where she received excellent care from their dedicated staff.
Her husband and parents, sisters Helen Marie Tufts and Ruth Ann Peake, brother Arthur Hobart Peake Jr., son-in-law WO1 Richard Bruce Olson, United States Army and great grandson Robert Alexander Fuller preceded her in death. Survivors are her children; Laurie Olson, Bill Baetzel (Cheryl), Bernie Baetzel (Karen), Arthur Baetzel (Susan), nine granddaughters, two grandsons and two great granddaughters.
A memorial service will be held at Shiloh United Methodist Church, 9611 West Highway 42, Goshen, KY 40026, at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday October 13th. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Shiloh United Methodist Church (Goshen, KY).
