Laura Lynn Griffin, 61, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away suddenly on Monday, July 10, 2023.
She was born on June 23, 1962, in Red Bank, New Jersey to Martin and Elizabeth (Reber) Griffin. She is preceded in death by her father, Martin "Grif" James Griffin.
Laura Lynn was an advocate for education. She received her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Tennessee and went on to pursue a Master's Degree from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and an MBA from Ellis University. Laura Lynn enjoyed the gaining, the sharing, the increasing, and the imparting of knowledge. This sharing was not just with co-workers, but with friends or any person she met along the way. She believed that shared knowledge could increase the happiness of life. She always had an open ear and heart for friends or the occasional stranger, which she seldom met.
Anyone that knew Laura Lynn knew she was a kind-hearted person and was dedicated to many things. She enjoyed country line dancing, golf cart rides and kayaking on Lake Barkley. She was a Harry Potter aficionado and traveled to Universal Studios many times to try her magic wand skills in Diagon Alley. She was also a collector and builder of Harry Potter Lego. She enjoyed fishing, but her fishhooks were not to be baited, no fish were to be harmed along the way. Laura Lynn had a wonderful imagination, with possibilities and new adventures at the ready. She was not a pessimist, she believed in goodness especially the goodness she found in others.
Laura Lynn is survived by her loving wife of 22 years, Alicia Duncan, mother, Betty Reber Clouse, chosen family, Michele Hackett and Nadine F. Murakawa, sister-in-law, Beth Cooper (James), nephews, Jason and Jimmy Cooper.
Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until the Celebration of Life at 5:00 pm on Thursday, July 20, 2023, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (235 Juneau Drive Louisville, KY 40245).
