Larry Warden, 79, of Louisville, Kentucky, gained his heavenly wings on Thursday, February 22, 2024. Larry Battled a long time illness. Larry had served in the Vietnam war. He retired from Navistar of 32 years. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Larry loved to garden and raise beautiful flowers, He also loved making things in his wood shop. He had an eye for photography. He was a proud Kentucky Colonel and he will truly be missed by anyone and everyone who had the honor of knowing him.
He was born on July 21, 1944 in Imboden, Virginia to James and Norma (Collier) Warden. He is preceded in death by his Parents, James Rufus Warden and Norma Ruth Warden; Great-Granddaughter, Alayna Swartwood; Siblings, Carl Warden, Harold Warden, James E. Warden, Mitchell Warden, Madge Harrison, and Wylenne Warden.
Larry is survived by his loving Wife of 55 years, Glades Marie Warden; Children, Douglas A. Warden and Rita A. Swartwood; Grandchildren, Dylan (Shanece) Swartwood and Meagan (Paul) Swartwood; Siblings Wade Warden, Linda Harrison, Gladys (Ernie) Holbrook, Frankie (Judy) Warden, Nancy (Jerry) Cooper, and Connie (David Lewis) Stith, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends to cherish his memory forever.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). His Funeral Service will be at 12:30 pm on Wednesday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel. The burial at Highland Memory Gardens in Mount Washington, Kentucky will be on Thursday February 29, 2024 at 1:00 pm
