Larry Willam Russell age 74, passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2024.
He was born February 9, 1950, in Clarksville, Indiana.
Larry spent his childhood years in Fairdale, Kentucky. This was a place where he learned the importance of loyalty among his brothers and his childhood friends while they spent their free time playing football and baseball in the empty lots around the neighborhood, during a time when life was simple. He was a Vietnam war veteran and was recognized by the U.S. Marine Corp for his honorable service with a purple heart. Larry was a patriot, a defender, and he believed in what the flag of the United States represents. After the war, he lived his life by enjoying the simple pleasures. He loved cheering on his favorite teams surrounded by family and friends. Larry was an avid reader and a deep thinker. He shared a special bond with each of his siblings. Larry will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
Larry is proceeded in death by his parents, Lester and Norma Littrell; his loving sister, Linda Myers; and his brother-in-law, Don Ramsey.
He is survived by his brothers, Wilbur Littrell (Kris), Tommy Littrell (Darlene); sisters, Janice Durbin, and Lisa Ramsey; along with many nieces and nephews.
He will be laid to rest in a private ceremony among family and friends on May 13, 2024, at Camp Nelson National Cemetery in Nicholasville, Kentucky.
