Larry "Bruce" Ramsey, 50, of Sellersburg, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2024. He graduated from Silver Creek High School in 1992, where he was a talented baseball and tennis player. Following graduation, Bruce went on to play semi-pro baseball before beginning his career at UPS in 1994, where he was a member of Teamsters Local 89 and had served as the union steward. He loved music, especially country, and had enjoyed both writing music and learning how to play the guitar.
Over the last few years, Bruce reconnected with God, developing a strong and unwavering commitment to his faith. He looked forward to attending mass every weekend with his parents at St. John Paul II Catholic Church.
He was born on November 19, 1973 in Corydon to Carlos and Carolyn (Emmick) Ramsey. Along with his parents, Bruce is survived by his daughters, Riley and Harper Ramsey; best friend, Kelly Overbay Ramsey (Steve Munford); brothers, John (Amy), Kevin, Brad Ramsey; sister, Brandy Hettinger (Chad); nieces and nephews, Ryan Ramsey, Erica Parsons (Adam), Mallory and Audrey Ramsey, Ava and Hudson Hettinger; great-nieces, Scout and Sloane Parsons; several aunts, uncles, extended family members; and his beloved pets, Charlie and Loki.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 5, 2024 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Saturday after 10:00 a.m. His funeral mass will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday at St. John Paul II Catholic Church (2253 W. St. Joe Road, Sellersburg) with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
