Larry Mcgee

Mr. Larry McGee was called home on April 21, 2011. He was born on December 2, 1955 in Louisville, Ky., the son of Bessie V. McGee and the late Laurence T. McGee. He was also preceded in death by his brother John L. McGee. He was a member of Solid Rock Community Church in Brownsboro, Ky. Larry was loved by everyone he met. He never saw a stranger.

Larry accepted Christ at an early age. He played base guitar and was the lead musician at Solid Rock Community Church. He also played and sang with the Gospel Group "Sweet Harmony".

He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Mrs. Bessie McGee; two children, Adrian Frazier and Larry McGee, Jr.; seven grandchildren, Larry, Jamontez, Jomikha, Isiah, Deandrea, Adria and Dillon; three sisters, Mary Shelburn, Lorane Watson and Mildred White; brothers, Lawrence, James and Rickey McGee; brother-in-law, Richard Shelburn and the late Joseph Watson, Sr. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Home-Going services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive with burial in Pewee Valley Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home 3 – 8 p.m. on Monday. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Kidney Foundation.
