Larry Eugene Embry, aged 81, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2025.
Born on September 10, 1943, in Neafus, Kentucky, Larry was the cherished son of the late Everett and Sibbie (Swift) Embry. He now joins his beloved wife, Donna Embry, and his siblings, William T. Bratcher, Glendon Bratcher, and Roy Bratcher, in peace.
Larry’s legacy lives on through his daughter, Laura (Chris) Schwaniger and his bonus daughter, Stephanie (Chris) Heimann, along with his beloved grandchildren, Quinton Schwaniger and Carson Heimann. He is also survived by his caring siblings, Dewey Bratcher, Eva Sue (Kendol) Tarrance, and Dalis (Evelyn) Embry, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will deeply miss his presence.
A proud veteran, Larry served our country honorably in the United States Air Force. Following his military service, he dedicated 30 years to the U.S. Post Office, exemplifying his strong work ethic and commitment to providing for his family. Even after retiring, Larry continued to work for another 15 years at Greenwood Elementary School in Louisville, displaying the same dedication he had shown throughout his career.
Above all, Larry was a devoted family man whose passion for his loved ones was evident in every moment spent together. He cherished making memories and held each one close to his heart, embodying what it meant to be a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation, which will be held from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel (10304 Dixie Hwy). A funeral service in honor of Larry will take place at 6:30 pm on the same day, followed by a private laying to rest at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff, Kentucky.
