Larry D. Pugh, 59, of New Albany passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2011 at Clark Memorial Hospital. Larry was the owner, along with his wife, Beverly, of Shooters Saloon located on Vincennes Street in New Albany.
Larry was the son of the late Elmer and Lenora Pugh of Greenfield, Indiana, where he was raised. He moved to New Albany in 1986, where he eventually married and became active in the business community and involved in numerous organizations. He was a past member of Elks Lodge 270, the Redman's Club, and the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Bev; daughter, Ashleigh, son, Shane, stepsons, Chris Stevens and William "Billy" Miller. He was one of 9 children and is survived by his siblings, D. Michael Pugh, Sharon Van Ornum, Pamela Stanley, Trish Meyer, Christopher Pugh, Maureen Hoar, Brian Pugh, Cynthia Kisenko, and numerous nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 PM on Wednesday, March 16 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, IN 47150). A sharing of memories and stories of Larry's life will take place from 7 to 8 PM. In accordance with Larry's wishes, the family will have a traditional wake at the Knights of Columbus (809 East Main Street, New Albany) immediately following the visitation from 8:30 to 10:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to help with medical and funeral expenses.
