Larry professional journey showcased his strong work ethic and commitment. He drove a truck for FedEx for an impressive 20 years, becoming a familiar face on the roads. In addition to his time at FedEx, he was the owner and operator of a landscaping business for many years, where his passion for the outdoors was evident in the care and artistry he brought to each project.
An alumnus of Washington County High School, Larry valued education and the friendships he made during that time. He cultivated a wide array of interests outside of his career. Larry found joy in fishing, relishing the tranquility it offered. He was also an avid NASCAR fan, often gathered with friends and family to cheer on his favorite drivers. His beloved dog, Lilly, brought him comfort and companionship, and they shared countless happy moments together.
Larry was cherished by his family, which includes his four children and twelve grandchildren, who will carry forward the legacy of love and kindness he instilled in them. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane Cornish, whose memory will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew them as partners in life. He also reunited in spirit with his parents, Charles R. and Frances Pauline Stine Cornish, his sister, Carol Lewis, and his brothers, Dickie Cornish, Walter Cornish, and Edward Cornish, all of whom have passed before him.
Larry Bruce Cornish's love for his family and his unwavering spirit will be dearly missed, and he leaves behind a legacy that will continue through his children and grandchildren. His time among us may have ended, but the memories and the impact he made will resonate for years to come.
