Larry Joseph Blanton

Larry Joseph Blanton, 73, of Otisco, Indiana, passed away on Friday, June 10, 2022. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Larry loved music, playing guitar, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a longtime member of Otisco United Methodist Church.

He was born on July 11, 1948, in Louisville, Kentucky, to Roma and Mary (Wilson) Blanton. In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his brothers, James, Gerald, Paul, Kenneth, Charles, Bobby, David, and Ronnie Blanton; and sisters, Frances Sharp and Wanda Lukeas.

Larry is survived by his wife, Karen (McClure) Blanton; children, Tracy Koestel (Jay), Matthew Blanton (Karen), Bobby DeMarco (Tonya), and Sharon Magruder (Bob); sister, Martha Brooks (Jerry); sister-in-law, Sharon Haynes; 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with his funeral service and military honors taking place at 6:00 p.m.
