Lamar Bell, age 82 passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at the home of his daughter in Crestwood KY. He was a resident of Rockford, Illinois for 68 years. He was a Charter member of Christian Union Full Gospel Church where he served faithfully through the years on the Usher Board and as a Trustee. He was a retiree of Illinois Bell Telephone (AT&T), with 34 years of service. He was a former member of St. Matthew Lodge #16 A.F. & A.M. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bea Bell and Gladys Parker; grandson, Curtis Lamar Dickens.
Mr. Bell is survived by daughter, Toni Rideout (George); sons, Curtis Lamar Bell, Jr. and Marcus Bell; grandchildren, Nina L.S. Bell, Sharnetta Dickens, Derek A. Rideout and Alishia N. Rideout; and 9 Great-grandchildren; siblings, Victory Bell (Carol), Beola Tripplett, Maggie Bolden, and Geneva Davis; also a host of nieces and nephews.
His home-going celebration will be 11:00 am Friday, September 27, 2013 at Christian Union Full Gospel Church, 1705 Kilburn Ave, Rockford, Illinois 61101 with Bishop Leonard James officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 9:00 am until time of service.
