Kristen Anne Wells was born much earlier than expected and sadly passed away far earlier than her friends had hoped, November 11, 1973 to April 18, 2025.
Kristen lived her life full of passion and spirit. Kristen had the ability to shine like an angel and a moment later be as stubborn as a mule. Her friends loved her for both. She had a passion for jewelry and watches in particular. Kristen found great joy in shopping and searching for hidden finds at thrift stores. She spent many enjoyable days curled up with a coloring book or an art tablet. She did not love green vegetables but might eat a few to humor you, especially if you helped her count the bites until they were gone. The simple things in life brought her great joy. She loved movies and outings with a friend or two. A trip to get ice cream was a particular favorite.
Kristen had an adventurous streak and would try a wild carnival ride or want to drive a boat. Sometimes she rethought these adventures and changed her mind. But there is joy and wonder in the trying.
Kristen had a fierce will and a tenacious heart. She could be a formidable opponent in the little debates of life. Yet somehow, she could disagree but not lose her love for those she debated. Her passion was like a flash of blazing fire. Her likes, dislikes, her thoughts, her joys all full of life and strong emotion. And particularly those she loved - she loved with great zeal.
Her grumpy exterior might have kept others from knowing her heart of gold but it was so strong that almost everyone soon saw her charm and value. Kristen didn’t immediately love everyone. She was careful and choosy. If she loved you, it was special, and she was a loyal friend. She tried not to keep grudges but she had a good memory too. You might eventually win her over; but she would test your sincerity and your persistence. She wanted an authentic friend and knew the difference.
Those of us, who had the privilege of becoming real friends with the one and only Kristen Wells, know that she cannot be replaced in our hearts. Her humor and succinctly poetic arguments were the stuff of legends. She was and is simply unforgettable. Some small people live small lives and leave small tracks. Kristen lived boldly and with a passion that could not be ignored. Her life left a beautiful blaze on the path she walked. She will be missed dearly and with as much passion as she lived.
