On February 24, 1972 at 11:59 pm a beautiful baby girl "Kimberly Ann" was born in Louisville, KY to Yvonne and Dave. Our Heavenly Father called Kim home to be one of His angels on June 23, 2019. Kim was destined for a life of greatness filled with diva-tude.
At an early age Kim had an interest in many extra-curricular activities. She sang with the well known youth choir Olivia Chandler & Unity and was active in Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana, where she won the highest cookie seller of the year award, which was a featured article in the Courier Journal. Confessing her life to Christ, she was baptized at Greater Salem Baptist Church and later moved her membership to St. Stephen Church.
Kim graduated from Central High School and Bellarmine University. She enjoyed doing community service as an active member of Zeta Phi Beta, Sorority Inc. Kim loved taking road trips, dinner dates, social events, reading, comedy and good music. Kim was always an advocate for youth and families, volunteering with Big Brothers-Big Sisters and CASA, as well as traveling to Quito, Ecuador to study and learn their culture. Kim left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She will truly be missed.
Kim is survived by her very loving mother, Yvonne (Phillip Sr.) and her father, Dave (Joyce), who was very devoted to her during her illness. She is also survived by her brother, Phillip Baynard, Jr.; grandmother, Ella Leslie; Deborah Leslie Leacock, her "Aunnie" who was always there for her niece and aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of friends.
The wake will be Thursday, June 27, 2019, at St. Stephen Church, 1018 South 15th Street, Louisville, KY from 5 pm-8 pm. A celebration of Kim's life will be Friday, June 28, 2019, at St. Stephen Church beginning at 1 pm.
Burial will follow at Green Meadows Cemetery, 3800 Shanks Lane, Louisville, KY.
