Kim Patterson-Briggs

Kim Yvonne Patterson-Briggs was born in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Joyce A. Patterson and James Mc Holder, Sr. on February 05, 1958. She departed this life Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at Jewish Hospital, Louisville, Kentucky.
She was educated in the Jefferson County Public Schools. She worked briefly as Nursing Assistant at the Pavilion Nursing Home, formerly located on the corner of Jackson and Jefferson Street. After which, she began working in the Childcare field. For many years, she served as Director of Cable's Daycare, which was located in the basement of the church. When that position ended, Kim began providing childcare services from her home.
Kim accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age at Cable Baptist Church. She was a faithful member who truly loved her church and always diligent in making herself available and ready to serve. Kim served as Ministry Leader of Cable's Martha Ministry who provided home cooked meals for special events and families during their time of bereavement. The love and joy in her heart was portrayed through the beautiful smile that was always on her face.
Later, Kim became a member of York Street Baptist under the pastorate of Rev. Ernest Jackson. She was licensed to preach on March 16, 2008. Kim served as a Sunday School Teacher and leader of the Women of Faith Ministry at York Street. She was a dedicated and faithful preacher, teacher and ministry leader!
Even when she wasn't feeling well she would always do whatever she could to help.
Kim was preceded in death by her mother: Joyce A. Patterson and two sisters: La Treda Hooker and Diane Finn. She leaves to cherish her memories three sons: Neal A. Patterson, Aaron D. Patterson and Kendrick D. Patterson; her father: Rev. James McHolder, Sr.; two adopted sons: Torrie Malone and Lamont Green; twelve siblings: Aloha (George) Williams, Vanessa Patterson, Harry C. (Elvie) Patterson, Paul Patterson, Timothy Patterson, Yerva (Jerome) Watson, Austin (Carolyn) Merriweather, Donna Simpson, Valeria Morris, Twana Morris, Kathy McHolder and James McHolder, Jr. Kim had fifteen grand-children, two great grand-children, twenty-three nieces, twenty-one nephews, twenty-five great nieces, twenty-seven great nephews, five great-great nieces, four great-great nephews and a host of cousins and friends.
A Homegoing Celebration will be held at 12:00pm on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at Cable Baptist Church. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 from 10am-12pm at Cable Baptist Church, followed by the Celebration.
