Kevin Patrick Powers
December 3, 1961 — April 24, 2023
Kevin Patrick Powers was born in Toledo, Ohio in December, 1961. He passed away peacefully on Monday, April 24, 2023 at Norton Brownsboro Hospital with his sons by his side. He is a 1980 graduate of Central Catholic High School and shortly thereafter served in the US Navy with the Seabees.
He was an active Cub Scout Leader and Master while his sons were members. Kevin loved bringing joy into the hearts of children by portraying Santa Claus during the holidays and attending many children's events. Kevin was a devoted and loving father who cherished his children, Ohio State Buckeyes Football, his Lord and strongly believed in helping those in need.
He was an employee of Ford Motor Company, a member of The Ancient Order of Hibernians, also a member of UAW Local 862 and a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents Leo and Elizabeth Powers.
He is survived by his sons Joseph and Patrick, along with his siblings Mike (Chris), Tim (Denise), Patricia (Dennis), Denis (Debbie), Daniel & Brian (Kelly) including 12 nieces and nephews and 13 great-nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, May 1, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (235 Juneau Drive Louisville, KY 40243).
A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at 10:00 am at St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church (2141 Lancashire Avenue, Louisville, KY 40205) with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery (1600 Newburg Road, Louisville, KY 40205).
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Children's Home (2823 Frankfort Ave, Louisville, KY 40206).
