Kevin Lee King was born in Lexington, KY on April 16, 1960 and passed away at the age of 63 in Louisville, KY on November 6, 2023.
He is survived by his loving wife, Belinda Lee King (Stanbery), of 40 years, his daughters, Jill Elizabeth Melchior (Sam) and Annabelle Grace King, and his beloved grandchildren, Claire Elizabeth Melchior and Callahan Lee Melchior. He is also survived by his parents, Dr. Gordon W. King and Barbara Lee Watson (King), brothers Gordon Wayne King III (Pam) and Gregory Thomas King (Ashley), niece and nephew Carly Ann King and Gabriel Jason Wilder King.
Kevin was a graduate of Waggener High School in 1978 and proudly received his business degree from Baylor University (Sic 'em Bears!) in 1982. Kevin loved his college and found his faith during his time there. He then spent 30 years working hard at Crown Packaging Corp and created lifelong relationships.
Belinda was his high school sweetheart and the love of his life. Kevin and Belinda built a beautiful life together in which they loved hosting people in their home and sharing the Gospel with others. There was no Kevin without Belinda and no Belinda without Kevin.
Kevin's pride and joy were his two daughters. He often served as a best friend, spiritual leader, and example of what a father should be. Recently named "Pa", Kevin grew to become all these things for his grandchildren. He enjoyed playing outside with them and his dog (son), Jack.
Kevin devoted much of his time to the Word of God alongside his Bible study. His faith influenced so many parts of his life, such as his workplace, family, and friends. He was an avid lover of classic rock and magic, often bringing smiles to others with his tricks. He lived to make people laugh.
As much as Kevin loved us, we loved him more and will continue to love and miss him until we join him in Heaven someday.
A memorial will be held at 11am on Monday, 11/13, at the Duncan Memorial Chapel, 5600 Old Floydsburg Rd, Crestwood KY, 40014. Visitation will take place from 10am-2pm on Saturday, 11/11, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Dr, Louisville KY, 40243.
