Kent Rodman, 90, passed away on Friday, October 12, 2012. He was a dad, grandpa, great grandpa, great- great grandpa and a great friend to his neighbors in Country Side Estates in Lanesville.
Kent was born on November 14, 1921 in Washington County, Indiana to the late Edwin and Mary (Tash) Rodman. He is survived by his children, Eugene Lilly (Evelyn), Vincent Lilly (Leatha) and Rita Hunchman (James,Sr.), all of New Albany, Mary Alexander (Jerry) of Lander, WY, Karen Fisher Rodman (Doug) of Columbia, SC and Alan Rodman (Paula) of Stamping Ground, KY, 22 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren , 12 great-great grandchildren, his girlfriend, Viola Montaque and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 47 years, Mary (Schmidt) Lilly Rodman.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 PM Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Service will take place at 11 AM Wednesday at the funeral home with burial to follow at St. Mary's Navilleton Catholic Cemetery in Floyds Knobs, Indiana.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
