Kenneth Eugene Wright, 85, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2023. He was a United States Navy veteran with 20 years of service and retired school bus driver for Kern County School Corporation in California.
He was born on May 20, 1937, in Harrison County, Indiana, to Joseph and Hazel (Spriggins) Wright. In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by his wife, Linda "Lou" Wright; and three siblings.
Ken is survived by his children, Kenneth Wright II (Mary), David Alan Wright (Debbie), Sherri Hardesty, and Erica Dawn Cole (Rick); six siblings; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ken's wish was to be cremated, and a reception of family and friends will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 19, 2023, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with a memorial service taking place at 1:30 p.m. Burial with military honors will follow at New Albany National Cemetery.
