Kenneth Owens

Kenneth "Paul" Owens, age 78 of Louisville, Kentucky passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, surrounded by the love of his family. Paul was born in Walsall, England, on December 10, 1944, before immigrating to the U.S. with his mother, a British war bride, and his father, a soldier in the US army. Paul was a proud veteran. During the Vietnam War he served with the decorated 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne) performing special reconnaissance. He received a Bachelor Degree in Sociology from the University of Louisville, was an avid blues music lover, always devoted to his pets, and loved to play guitar and watch football, basketball, and westerns. Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Julia Cash; granddaughter, Aurelia; parents, Jean and Ray; and siblings, Wayne and Jean Marie; siblings, Donna and Johnny.

Paul is dearly missed and will forever be remembered by his children, Shannon (Sandy) and Nicole; stepchildren, Adam and Samantha (Chris); his brothers, Johnny, Kenny, and Chris; sisters, Lynn and Connie; and numerous extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be from 3 to 5 pm on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations Funerals and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, Kentucky 40243, followed by a celebration of Paul's life at 5pm. Military honors will follow the service. Burial will take place at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central at a later day and time.
