Kenneth Paul Mattingly, 88, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2024. He was born on January 6, 1936 in Louisville, Kentucky to George Paul and Theresa Catherine (Schwoeppe) Mattingly.

“Ken or Kenny” was an Auto Mechanic by trade and retired after 46 years at A.C. Brake Co. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to friends and family in his garage he was so proud of. He grew up in the Germantown neighborhood, graduated from Flaget High School and enjoyed monthly lunches with long-time friends at Checks. He proudly served in the United States Army and spoke often of his time in Germany doing vehicle recovery. He enjoyed gardening, bowling, fishing, and spending time pitching horseshoes and watching ballgames at Turners (an honorary 40+ member).

He was preceded in death by his parents; and by his sisters, Imelda Beam, Rose Mullaney, Norma Abrams, and Paula Smith.

Ken is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Mary R. (Wallace) Mattingly; his sister, Ann Wolford; brother, Bill (Diane) Mattingly; brother-in-law, Dennis Smith; children, Lori (Danny) Fusting, Julie (Anthony) Rich, Tammy (Dave) Hubbuch and Jeff Mattingly (Pam Steen); 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
