Kenneth Allen Lindsey, 88, died peacefully on October 8, 2022 in Louisville, KY after a courageous battle with dementia.
Kenneth was born August 26, 1934 in Louisville to Claude and Clella Lindsey, and was the ninth of ten children. After graduating from Louisville Male High School, he married Betty Braun Lindsey on his 21st birthday. He began to serve his country in the United State Army in 1959. From there he returned to work at the L and N railroad where he spent several years. Kenneth helped establish the use of computers at GE for billing and banking. With the help of the GI bill, he attended the University of Louisville where he obtained with honors an MBA. After graduation Kenneth was recruited by UofL as bursar and held a variety of administrative positions, including Associate Athletic Director.
Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Betty Braun Lindsey, two daughters - Julie (Steve) Thielmeier, Amy (Tim) Ballard, five grandchildren - Krista Berger, Chelsea (Alexander) Mann, Nicholas Thielmeier, Allison and Devin Ballard, one great granddaughter, Cecilia Reinhart and one great grandson expected in January.
Besides spending time with his family and friends, Ken enjoyed traveling the world. With his eye for photography, he was able to preserve memories for others to share. He later joined the coffee club at the UofL Alumni Club where he and his friends traded stores, lies, and practical jokes while consuming gallons of coffee.
If desired, friends may make a contribution to organizations that were dear to Ken's heart - either the Wesley House Community Services or Middletown Christian Church.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Middletown Christian Church (500 N. Watterson Trail, Louisville, KY 40243) on Sunday, November 13, 2022 at 3:00pm.
