Kenneth Eugene Fryer

Kenneth Eugene Fryer, 96, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2023. He was a United States Navy veteran that proudly served his country during WWII. Kenneth retired from a career as a truck driver and was an elder of Jehovah's Witness. He was proud of his Cherokee heritage and enjoyed studying Native American Indian and horse history. Kenneth maintained a healthy lifestyle and regularly exercised at Anytime Fitness in Floyds Knobs. He had many interests that included working on and trading trucks and, in his younger years, rodeo riding.

He was born on March 10, 1926, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Troy and Dorothy (Beldium) Fryer. In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife, Marolyn (Flora) Fryer; daughter, Kennette Gilley; and sister, Alma Martin.

Kenneth is survived by his daughter, Te-Ata White (Robert); son-in-law, Richard Gilley; sister, Barbara Leake; grandchildren, Sean Gilley, Brad Gilley (Toni), Travis White (Charlee), Jana Curtis (Shannon), and Stacey Dippel (Grant); great-grandchildren, Prater White, Madison White, Tendal White, Darin Gilley, Ross Gilley, Bailey White, Isaac Curtis, and Kennedy Curtis; step-great-granddaughter, Savanna Wachtstetter; great-great-grandchildren, Laiken Weyrauch, Kaizlee Weyrauch, and Briar Gilley; as well as many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and -nephews.

Kenneth's wish was to be cremated, and Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) was entrusted with his care. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses - New Albany Congregation (4980 Brush-College Road, Floyds Knobs, IN 47119).
