Kenneth E. Cox

Kenneth E. Cox, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and veteran passed away on September 24, 2024, at the age of 77. Born on April 25, 1947, in New Albany, Indiana, Ken was committed to and had a profound love for his family.

As a veteran the United States Army, Ken served honorably during the Vietnam War, a chapter of his life that shaped his character and love of country.

Ken had many passions that brought him joy. He raced stock cars for many years, a pursuit that fueled his love for speed and competition. Whether on the track or at the bowling alley, he approached every challenge with determination. Ken was a season ticket holder for the U of L women's basketball team and loved any opportunity to go and watch them play. His affinity for the outdoors was evident through his love for fishing and hunting, activities that allowed him to connect with nature and share meaningful moments with family and friends.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 47 years, Mary L. Cox, who was not only his partner but his greatest supporter throughout his life. Together, they built a beautiful family, including their daughters, Cara (Whit) Clements and Elizabeth Cox, who brought him immense pride and joy. He was also a delighted grandfather to his granddaughter, Holland Clements, whose laughter filled his heart with warmth.

Ken is preceded in death by his parents, Temple Earl Cox and Mona Elizabeth Chanley Cox; and his sister, Susie Noel.

His Funeral Mass will be at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at St. Mary's Catholic Church (415 E 8th St, New Albany, IN) with a Celebration of Life to follow in the cafeteria from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. He will be laid to rest at Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery privately. Cremation was chosen following Ken's wishes.
