Kenny "Moon" Diehlman, age 80 of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on Friday, March 1, 2024 peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 3, 1943 to the late Lawrence George and Angal Justice Diehlman. He attended Holy Family Catholic School and graduated from Durrett High School in Louisville, Kentucky. At a very young age he started his golf career as a caddy at Audubon Country Club and Standard Country Club. He married the love of his life, Gayle on February 12, 1966 at Resurrection Catholic Church. From there he was hired by the City of Louisville Metro Parks as the Head Golf Pro at Long Run Golf Course. He retired from that position 38 years later.
Kenny's passion was gambling. He enjoyed playing golf, playing cards, going to Churchill Downs as well as Vegas and the Casino boats with his friends. He also enjoyed making an occasional bet on football games. He was a loving father and Papa. He never missed a sporting event. He was his kids and grandkids number one fan!
Kenny was preceded in death by his second child, Kurt Landon; brother, Lawrence Wayne Diehlman.
Kenny is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Gayle Hauck Diehlman; 4 children, Kerry (Cherie), Kent (Tiffany), Kennetta (Tony) and Kimberly (David); 10 grandchildren, Nick, Kameron, Kianna, Cash, Zane, Lily, Brock, Colt, Lexy, and grandson-in-law Taylor; sisters, Joyce England (Mike), Sandy Crowe; brother, Michael Lee Diehlman (Debbie); and a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be from 10am to 12pm on Saturday, March 9, 2024 with a sharing of memories at 11am at St. Patrick Catholic Church 1000 N Beckley Station Rd, Louisville, KY 40245, followed by a Mass of Celebration at 12pm.
