Kenneth Ray Byrne

August 30, 1952 — February 28, 2018

Kenneth Ray "Kenny" Byrne, 65, passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2018, in Jeffersonville, Indiana. Kenny loved electronics and riding motorcycles. He was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous for 26 years, a place that taught him the skills that he would later use to be instrumental in so many other people's lives during their struggles with addiction. Kenny was a proud veteran of the United States Army.

He was born on August 30, 1952, to the late Ward M. and Pearl M. (Ballew) Byrne. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Steve "Buzz" Byrne.

Kenny is survived by his siblings, Roger Byrne (Patty), Eddie Byrne (Sandra), Debbie Byrne Crider, Danny Byrne (Terri), and Glen Byrne (Donna); his nephew that he treated as a son, Jeremy Thompson; granddaughter, Kynlee Marie Ray Thompson; nieces and nephews, Myla, Shea, Nick, Lydia, Chaz, and Sean, who he helped raise.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana 47150). His Funeral Service will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Cremation will follow.
