Kenneth Joe Birkla, 65, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Monday, October 13, 2014 at Floyd Memorial Hospital.
Joe was born in Kirby, Indiana to the late Albert & Margaret (McClanahan) Birkla. He is survived by his daughter, Shannon Bridgewater and her husband, Noah; son, Jason Birkla; brother, Larry Birkla; sister, Alice Weatherly; grandchildren, Lucious & Abigail. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, William "Bill" Birkla, Lester Birkla, Albert Birkla, Jr., Dee Crone, Kathleen Atkins, Marie Bennett, Trudy Miller, & Gerry Broughton.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 PM on Thursday, October 16, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Service will be on Friday at 1 PM at the funeral home with cremation to follow according to Joe's wishes.
