Kenneth A. Showalter

April 29, 1930 — February 26, 2013

Showalter, Kenneth A., 82, of Louisville, passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2013. He was born April 29, 1930 in Orange, Calif., and attended Xavier University and the University of Cincinnati, where he studied engineering. Ken served in the Navy aboard submarines and mine sweepers before, during, and after the Korean War. He was a member of St. Albert the Great Catholic Church and served on the Graymoor board of trustees for 11 years, spending two as mayor. After 26 years, he retired from Koch Corporation as executive vice president.

Ken is survived by his wife of 56 years, the former Eileen Stegman; his children, Julie Hauntz (Kevin), Mark Showalter, and Bryan Showalter (Karen Daunhauer); four grandchildren, Heather Hise (David), Melissa Hauntz, Andrew Showalter, and Jessica Morgan (Scott); great-grandson Landon Morgan, and beloved dog Willow.

Visitation will be held at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, 1395 Girard Drive, 12-2pm Friday, March 1, 2013 followed by a funeral Mass at 2pm.
