Kelly Murphy

Kelly Michael Murphy, 51, of New Albany, Indiana passed away on Sunday, September 26, 2010. He was a graduate of New Albany High School and had worked for several local restaurants. Kelly enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and camping and was quite a storyteller.

Kelly was born on August 27, 1959 in Knoxville, Tennessee to Regina L. (Hoffman) and the late William R. Murphy. In addition to his father, Kelly was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dr. Edgar and Elizabeth Murphy and William G. and Clara Hoffman.

He is survived by his son; Sean M. Murphy of New Albany; mother, Regina L. Murphy of Floyds Knobs, Indiana; brothers, Dennis B. Murphy and his wife, Merline of New Albany and John D. Murphy and his wife, Laura of South Jordan, Utah; sister, Noreen McHolland and her husband, Ernie Moore; nieces and nephews, Kennedy, Ryan, Mara, Reyna and Emma; aunts, uncles and several cousins.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 PM Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at Newcomer Funeral Home – Southern Indiana (formerly Generations Funeral Home) at 3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, IN 47150. The Funeral Service will be at 11 AM Wednesday, September 29 in the Paul F. Kraft, Sr. Memorial Chapel at the funeral home with burial to will follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hosparus – the Community Hospice of Southern Indiana.
