Kathy Miller

August 2, 1948 — February 13, 2025

Mount Washington, Kentucky

Kathy Miller, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on February 13, 2025, in her hometown of Louisville, Kentucky. She was born on August 2, 1948, in Louisville, and was the cherished daughter of the late Louis and Mary (Detenber) Rausch.

Kathy dedicated 30 years of her life to the Census Bureau, retiring in 2007. Her career was marked by a commitment to service and a deep respect for her work, but it was her role as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother that truly defined her. Kathy was a guiding light to her family, embodying kindness, creativity, and love in everything she did.

She is remembered fondly for the special moments shared with her loved ones, whether it was at the lake or on family vacations to the beach. Kathy took great joy in crafting; she taught her daughters the art of painting ceramics, sewing, scrapbooking, and making homemade cards. Kathy enjoyed lunches with friends, and spending time with her best friend and honorary sister, Karen VanVactor and her husband Bobby. Her passion extended to cooking and baking, and she had a particular fondness for margaritas. Holidays were made extraordinary under her thoughtful care, as she found joy in creating memorable experiences for her family.

Kathy's legacy will be carried on by her adoring husband of 54 years, James "Mickey" Michael Miller, her daughters, Tracy (Matt) Biggs and Donna (Ronnie) Mullins, she was especially proud of her role as a grandmother, affectionately known as "G" to her grandsons Nicholas Mullins (Elizabeth Herbert) and Lucas Mullins (Ari Rose), granddaughter Amber Biggs, and was the best "GG" to her great-grandson Zachary Mullins. Her legacy as a fantastic grandmother will be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to know her. She is also survived by her brothers, Mark Rausch, Chris Rausch, Jeff Rausch (Lisa) and a host of nieces and nephews.

Kathy Miller's memory will forever remain alive in the hearts of those she touched with her sweet, loving spirit and her unwavering commitment to her family. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Per Kathy's wishes cremation was chosen and a celebration of life will be held privately.
