Kathryn Jean "Kay" Strack, age 78, of Louisville Kentucky, returned home on April 4, 2023. She was born in Gloversville, New York, on March 25, 1945. Kathryn is preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Eleanor Bellinger; and brother, Donald Bellinger Jr.
Kay will be dearly missed by her family. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband William Strack; daughter Amy Mulcrone (Dominick) of Chicago, son Kirk Strack (Susan) of Louisville; sister Joanne DaBiere (Salvatore); brother David Bellinger; granddaughter Caroline Strack; grandsons Riley McAndrew, Andrew Strack, Max McAndrew, and Justin Strack; nieces and nephews and many loving friends.
Kay could make a person laugh even on their darkest day. She had a beautiful smile and a contagious laugh, and only ever cared about making the people around her happy. She had a sweet tooth that knew no bounds but enjoyed a well-made Italian dish. She spent most of her life taking care of others, and just had a way of making a person feel cared for and loved. She especially loved working at Sayre Christian Nursing Home in Lexington, Kentucky because everybody she worked with treated her like part of their family. Kay will always keep all of her friends that taught her so much close to her heart. She devoured books, but not the bestsellers (because those were usually overrated, in her opinion), she adored a good cup of coffee, and you could always count on her suggesting a shopping trip to Kohls or TJMaxx. Kay was a wonderful person, and this world is worse off without her in it.
Kay's visitation will be held on April 10, 2023 from 1:00pm until 5:00pm with a brief sharing of memories at the end at Newcomer, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY 40243 with cremation to follow. A memorial service will take place in Fonda, New York at a later date. Per Kay's requests, in lieu of flowers, please donate to the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital www.stjude.org or a charity of your choice.
