Kathryn Jenkins

Kathryn 'Kathy' Jenkins, aged 78, passed away peacefully at her home on December 9, 2024. Born on April 20, 1946, Kathryn was a beloved figure in her community and a devoted member of her family. She was known for her unwavering faith and her commitment to serving God throughout her life.

Kathy, along with her late husband Dennis, were the proud owners of Arc Weld Inc., where they demonstrated their strong work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit. She took great joy in attending her grandchildren's activities, always cheering them on with enthusiasm and love. She also had a passion for travel and shopping, which often led to memorable adventures with Dennis and her close friend group, who were dear to her heart.

Kathy is survived by her loving daughter, Julie (Hudson) Heidbreder, and her sons, Brian (Jessica) Jenkins and Mark (Stacy) Jenkins. She cherished her role as 'Granny', and is survived by her grandchildren: Dalton Jenkins, Tanner Jenkins, Mackenzie (Ben) Cunningham, Wesley Jenkins, Zachary Heidbreder, Jake Heidbreder, and Jenna Heidbreder. Additionally, she is survived by her sister, Kristy (John) Tarwater.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Mattie Russell, her father, Ralph Russell, and her beloved husband of 47 years, Dennis Jenkins.

Visitation for Kathryn will be held on December 15, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southern Indiana, located at 3309 Ballard Ln, New Albany, IN 47150. A funeral service will take place the following day, December 16, 2024, at 9:00 AM. There will be visitation prior to the service beginning at 8:30AM.

Kathy will be remembered as a pillar of strength in her family and community, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and dedication that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
