Katherine Patterson

Katherine Patterson, a devoted Registered Nurse at Norton Audubon Hospital and beloved member of the Louisville community, passed away on August 19th, 2024, at the age of 76. Born on January 28, 1948, in Tampa, Florida, Katherine's early life laid the foundation for the compassionate career that would define her legacy.

Katherine proudly attained her Nursing Licensure (RN) from Jefferson Community College Her commitment to healthcare was unwavering, as she dedicated herself to caring for others through her profession. Known for her fun-loving and mischievous spirit, Katherine brought joy to those around her, whether through her work or the warmth she offered close family and friends. She was passionate about reading, cooking, and traveling, with a particular fondness for beach destinations.

Katherine is survived by her daughters, Sherie Hicks (Charlie) and daughter-in-law Patti Patterson (Joseph). Her brothers, Ricky Coniglio (Corine), Eddie Coniglio , her grandchildren Sarah Surratt, Jessica Dowell, Malorie Patterson, Justin Jump, Lucas Castille and great-grandchildren CJ Surratt and Summer Surratt along with several nieces and nephews. Her nurturing nature will live on through them.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Davis Morris Patterson; son, Joseph Louis Patterson; daughter, Christina Elizabeth Cunningham; her father, Vincenzo Coniglio; and her mother, Beverly Ware.

The visitation for Katherine Patterson will be held on August 27, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, East Louisville, located at 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY 40243. The funeral service will follow on August 28, 2024, beginning at 11:00 AM and concluding at 12:00 PM at the same location.

Katherine's remarkable life and the impact she made on those fortunate enough to know her will be fondly remembered and celebrated by her family, friends, and colleagues in the nursing profession.
