Kathleen "Katie" Pierce, left this world on January 28, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on May 31, 1934, Katie lived a life filled with joy, warmth, and an infectious spirit that touched the lives of many.
Katie had a zest for life that was reflected in her numerous hobbies and interests. An avid golfer, she cherished the moments spent on the greens. Her love for cooking brought friends and family together around the dinner table, where her culinary creations were both a delight and a testament to her nurturing nature. A proud member of the Highland Park First Baptist Church in Louisville and of the Red Hat Society, Katie embraced friendship and fun, often bringing joy to gatherings with her vibrant personality. Among her many talents, she was a gifted square-dancer, showcasing her skills nationally and adding another layer of accomplishment to her rich life experience.
Katie is survived by her son, Dennis Pierce; her cherished grandson, Peyton Pierce; and her sister, Joyce Bottorff. She found great joy in the company of her nieces, Renata (Archie) Walden, Diana Lofthouse, Jana Rutkowski, and Lori (John) Lindsey; and shared a special bond with her daughter-in-law, Lynn Dempster, and sister-in-law, Eva DeVary.
Katie is now reunited with her beloved husband, Elmer Pierce, and her daughter, Denise Pierce, whose absence left an indelible mark on her heart. She also joins her parents, Albert DeVary and Anna Spencer DeVary, along with her brothers, Mike, Paul, Jim, Jack, and Don DeVary, in eternal rest.
In remembering Katie, we celebrate a life well-lived-a life full of love, laughter, and an unwavering spirit. Her legacy will live on through her family and friends, as they carry forward her kindness, passion, and zest for life.
