Kathleen Ann Kiper, 72, passed peacefully on Thursday, December 29, 2022 surrounded by her family who were holding her hand, stroking her hair and telling her how much she was loved. Kathy Kiper was a light in this world. She lit up every room she entered. She remembered everyone's name and made every single person feel welcome. Even in the hospital, she called every nurse, aide and cleaning person that entered her room by name. Kathy was fun, generous and funny, and laughed all the time. She mailed a card for every occasion, even pet birthdays. Kathy loved to write poetry and sing songs. She was very creative and artistic. She used every gift God gave her to the very best of her ability. Kathy loved her husband and her family more than anything in this world and dedicated her life to them. She was a Christian and gave her life to Christ in 1986, she showed Christ's love to every person she encountered. Kathy was a member of Southeast Christian Church since 1986 and, with two close friends, created and served the H.O.P.E group which focused on supporting those suffering from depression. (H.O.P.E. being an acronym for He Offers Peace Everlasting.) Her reach in this world was vast. She couldn't help it. She was just being herself. We are excited for her that she is now with God and watching over her family from heaven.
She is preceded in death by her parents Leon and Mary Ann Spayd; brother Ronnie Spayd, brother-in-law Nick Cline and many loved ones.
She is survived by her loving husband Larry Kiper, children Jeanna Gaines, Jessica Gaines and Chris Kiper (Amy); grandkids Zack, Ramon (Madeline), Austin, Maggie and Garrett; many grand-pets; sisters Linda Cline and Leanne Spayd, sister-in-law Sandra Spayd and a host of friends and extended family.
A celebration of a beautiful life lived will be held on Saturday, January 7th, 2023 at Chapel in the Woods (1407 Moser Rd, Louisville, KY 40299). Visitation from 12-2pm. Ceremony at 2pm.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, contributions in Kathy's memory be made to Southeast Christian Church.
